Former Ole Miss linebacker Tahj Chambers signs with Indianapolis as UDFA
OXFORD, Miss. — Tahj Chambers is taking his next step in football. The former Ole Miss linebacker has signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent, earning an opportunity to compete at the NFL level after a productive and physical college career.

Chambers developed into a steady presence in the Rebels’ defense, bringing a downhill, aggressive style that fit the identity Ole Miss built on that side of the ball. He showed the ability to read plays quickly, fill gaps, and finish tackles, making him a dependable option in key situations.
During his time in Oxford last season, Chambers recorded 46 tackles — 27 of which were solo — three pass breakups and a quarterback hurry. He consistently contributed across multiple phases of the defense.
Beyond the production, Chambers’ value showed up in the way he played — physical, disciplined, and willing to handle the less glamorous responsibilities that keep a defense functioning at a high level. He was part of a unit that helped power Ole Miss through one of the most successful stretches in program history, including a run to the College Football Playoff.
Now, he’ll look to translate that same mindset to the professional level.
Signing as an undrafted free agent presents a challenge, but it also opens the door. Chambers’ toughness, motor, and ability to contribute on special teams give him a path to stick as he begins his NFL journey with Indianapolis.
For Chambers, it’s a chance to keep proving himself — something he’s done at every step along the way.
And for Ole Miss, it’s another defender getting his shot at the next level, continuing the program’s growing presence in the NFL.
