Malloy Named Finalist for Dave Williams Coach of the Year Award
OXFORD, Miss. (Release)–Ole Miss men’s golf head coach Chris Malloy has been named one of five finalists for the 2026 Dave Williams Award presented by Golf Pride Grips. The Williams Award honors the national coach of the year in NCAA Division I men’s golf and is awarded by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The recipient will be announced on Tuesday, June 9.
This would mark Malloy’s second coaching award this season as he became just the second coach in program history to earn SEC Coach of the Year honors. In 2025-26, Malloy has guided the Rebels to a No. 9 national ranking and the No. 8 seed at the NCAA Championship in Carlsbad, California.
The Rebels have finished inside the top five ten times which includes three team titles, highlighted by the program’s second-ever SEC Championship and first since 1984. Five players have at least one top-10 finish with four tallying at least one top five.
Malloy has orchestrated a senior trio of Tom Fischer, Cameron Tankersley and Cohen Trolio, who all rank inside the top 55 of the World Amateur Golf Rankings and the top 20 of PGA TOUR U. Fischer is a finalist for the Haskins Award and was tabbed first team All-SEC, while Tankersley was named to the second team All-SEC.
