OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss men’s basketball made another significant move in the transfer portal over the weekend, adding a proven backcourt presence with the commitment of Seton Hall guard Adam “Budd” Clark.
Clark, a 5-foot-10 playmaker out of Philadelphia, arrives in Oxford following a standout season in the Big East, where he earned second-team all-conference honors and carved out a reputation as one of the league’s top two-way guards.
Proven Production in the Big East
During the 2025-26 campaign, Clark averaged 12.7 points, 4.7 assists and three rebounds per game while shooting 43.7 percent from the field. While his perimeter shooting numbers were modest, his impact was felt in nearly every other area — particularly on the defensive end, where he averaged two steals per game and routinely disrupted opposing backcourts.
Clark’s ability to influence the game on both ends earned him a spot not only on the All-Big East Second Team, but also on the conference’s All-Defensive Team.
He delivered several standout performances throughout the season, including a 31-point outing against Providence and an 11-assist performance in the Big East Tournament semifinals against St. John’s, showcasing both his scoring ability and playmaking instincts.
A Journey Built on Growth
Before his time at Seton Hall, Clark built his reputation at Merrimack, where he quickly emerged as one of the most productive guards at the mid-major level.
As a freshman, he averaged 13.4 points per game and was named NEC Rookie of the Year. He followed that up with a dominant sophomore season, averaging nearly 20 points per game while ranking among the national leaders in both assists and steals. That performance earned him All-MAAC First Team recognition and multiple conference player of the week honors.
Across his collegiate career, Clark has been remarkably consistent, appearing in 33 games in each of the past three seasons.
A Key Portal Addition
Clark becomes one of the latest additions to Ole Miss’ 2026-27 roster as the Rebels continue to reshape their lineup through the transfer portal. He joins former Pittsburgh forward Roman Siulepa as part of this year’s transfer portal class.
With the transfer portal window closing on April 20, Ole Miss appears intent on continuing to build a roster centered around experience, versatility, and proven production at the high-major level. And with Clark now in the fold, the Rebels have added a guard capable of leading an offense, defending at a high level, and bringing a competitive edge to the backcourt as they look ahead to the 2026-27 season.
