Ole Miss Adds Massive In-State Offensive Tackle Coderro McDaniel to 2027 Class

OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss didn’t wait for the weekend to make noise on the recruiting trail. The Rebels picked up a commitment Monday from Brookhaven (Miss.) offensive tackle Coderro McDaniel, giving the program another in-state addition as it continues to build momentum in its 2027 class.

McDaniel, a massive 6-foot-7, 325-pound prospect, chose Ole Miss over a strong early list of offers that included Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi State, North Carolina and Kansas.

With his pledge, the Rebels now sit at seven commitments in the 2027 cycle, a group that features standouts like Keegan Croucher, Ben’Jarvius Shumaker and Keysan Taylor.

Size, Strength Set McDaniel Apart

Physically, McDaniel checks every box.

His frame alone makes him a presence, but it’s his strength that truly stands out. Earlier this year, he posted impressive numbers in the weight room — including a 220-pound bench, 450-pound squat and 565-pound deadlift — showcasing the raw power he brings to the trenches.

That strength translates directly onto the field, where he consistently moves defenders and creates space in the run game. Combined with his size and mobility, it’s a foundation that offensive line coaches covet. His combination of size, physicality, and movement ability made him a take for the Rebels — and a valuable addition to the class.

Building Something Up Front

McDaniel’s commitment also reflects a broader focus for Ole Miss: building a strong, physical offensive line group for the future.

He was in Oxford earlier this spring alongside several other top offensive line targets, including in-state prospects Antonio Berry and Caden Moss, as well as Memphis four-star Antonio Keefer.

Landing all of those names won’t be easy, but Ole Miss has positioned itself well with multiple key targets — a sign that this could develop into one of the more impressive offensive line hauls in the class.

For now, the Rebels have secured a cornerstone piece in McDaniel — a player with the size, strength, and upside to anchor the trenches in Oxford for years to come.
