Richard, a native of Opelousas, LA, is a 5-foot-7 guard who is very skilled with the ball. She averaged 9.5 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 3.3 assists in her second year at the collegiate level. Richard shot 44.8 percent from the field and 40.8 percent from three. She is a very efficient scorer who is wise beyond her years in terms of ball movement; she has excellent court vision.
In terms of defense, she is very good for her size, averaging 1.3 steals per game. While not a point-of-attack defender, she can certainly guard the opposing team’s point guard competitively. Richard’s announcement of her transfer shocked some LSU fans online as it happened seemingly out of nowhere.
The impact of her addition to the roster cannot be understated. She brings with her a gifted passing skillset and lethal shooting. Fourty percent from three is nothing to scoff at, and she is a serious threat along the perimeter. Her presence on the court will be felt for the Rebels and should make for a very strong addition.
