Oxford Regional Announced: No. 1 Rebs joined by Southern Miss, Florida State, SE Missouri St.

OXFORD, Miss. — NCAA baseball regional action begins Friday in Oxford at Swayze Field, and we now know who will be joining the No. 1 seed Rebels!

Here’s what the regional will look like, with Ole Miss opening action Friday against SE Missouri State. First pitch is set for 7:00 p.m. (CT) at Swayze. In the early game Friday, Southern Miss and Florida State will play at 2:00 p.m. (CT).

No. 1  – Ole Miss (41-19) 

No. 2. – Southern Miss (37-19)

No. 3 – Florida State (30-22)

No. 4  – SE Missouri State (30-20)

About the teams in the Oxford Regional

Southern Miss, who went 22-9 in Conference USA, is ranked No. 24 in RPI. The Seminoles are ranked No. 45 in the RPI, going 18-13 in ACC league play. SE Missouri State won both the regular season and postseason OVC titles.

Ole Miss is paired with the Arizona Regional in Tucson. The 16 double-elimination regionals will be followed by eight, best-of-three super regional series where the winners will advance to the men’s College World Series.
