2021 Ole Miss Pro Day: A Look at the Numbers

2021 Ole Miss Pro Day: A Look at the Numbers

OXFORD, Miss — On Thursday, Ole Miss Football held its annual Pro Day at the Manning Center. Of course this was the first time the program was able to hold the event since the spring of 2019 due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Participants featured from last year’s team were: WR Elijah Moore, TE Kenny Yeboha, OL Royce Newman, LS Jack Propst, and K Luke Logan.

Elijah Moore set the tone early for himself and quickly became the focal point for the rest of the day when he ran an official 4.32 (after review) in his first and only attempt at the 40-yard dash.

After that, Moore ran the 20-yard shuttle in 4.00 seconds and finished the 3-cone drill in 6.65 seconds. Moore would then go on to record 17 reps on the bench press, notch a 36 inch vertical, and score a 10-1″ broad jump.

His impressive day didn’t stop there, either. Moore grabbed the attention of NFL scouts and surely improved his draft stock while running routes and catching passes from former Rebels’ QB Chad Kelly. Moore not only lined up at receiver but was also getting reps in the backfield for scouts.

Tight end Kenny Yeboah was able to record 15 reps on the bench, a 34 inch vertical, and a 9-8″ broad jump before getting injured while running his 40-yard dash.

Offensive lineman Royce Newman was able to record a 8-8″ broad jump, 5.08 40-yard dash, 4.83 20-yard shuttle, and a 7.82 on the 3-cone drill.

Long-snapper Jack Propst recorded 11 reps on the bench press, a 28 inch vertical, a 8-8″ broad jump, a 5.04 on the 40-yard dash, and a 4.54 20-yard shuttle.

Wide receiver Floyd Allen ran the 40-yard dash and officially ran a 4.53 in his best attempt.

As mentioned above, Chad Kelly was throwing passes to Elijah Moore, but he was also doing his own drills trying to impress scouts while throwing to wide receivers Damore’ea Stringfellow, DaMarkus Lodge, and Floyd Allen.

Chad, Jalen, DaMarkus, Floyd, and Damore’ea are all looking for another shot in the NFL. Hopefully they showed enough to NFL scouts on Thursday.

The NFL draft will be in Cleveland and begin on April 29 and end May 1. Expect to hear some Rebels get called up!

Hotty Toddy!
