Walker Hooks Invited to 2026 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team Training Camp

CARY, N.C. (Release) – Ole Miss sophomore Walker Hooks has been invited to attend USA Baseball’s 2026 Collegiate National Team Training Camp this summer with a chance to make the Collegiate National Team in July.

Once the college baseball season ends, Hooks will join USA Baseball for exhibition games in Burlington, North Carolina and Danville, Virginia at the end of June and the annual Stars vs. Stripes series in Cary, North Carolina from June 30-July 4. The Collegiate National Team will be announced on July 5 before they go compete in the inaugural World Collegiate Baseball Championship at Taichung City Intercontinental Baseball Stadium in Taichung City, Taiwan, from July 11-15.

Hooks has a chance to become the first Rebel to play for the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team since Jacob Gonzalez and Hunter Elliott in 2022.

Hooks currently carries a 3-1 record with seven saves, an ERA of 2.22, and 58 strikeouts over 52.2 innings on the season. He has solidified himself as the Rebels’ lock down arm to come out of the bullpen in high leverage situations.

Hooks finished the regular season leading the SEC in ERA (1.73), WHIP (0.80), and appearances (17) during conference play. He was also tied for the league lead in saves with seven. The big left-hander was also ranked second in fewest walks allowed (6) and tied for fifth in strikeout-to-walk ratio (6.00) in league games.

The big lefty has converted six of his last seven save opportunities and has allowed just five earned runs over his last 14 appearances.
