The Gillom Trophy is an annual award presented by the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame to the most outstanding women’s college basketball player in the state of Mississippi. Established in 2008, it is named in honor of Ole Miss legend Peggie Gillom-Granderson, the university’s first Black female student-athlete. Ole Miss has taken it home five times out of the last six seasons.
This past season, McMahon left a lasting impact on the program as a whole, averaging 19.5 points on 45.1% shooting from the field, 5.1 rebounds, and three assists in 30 minutes per game. She finished fourth all-time in points scored in one season by a Rebel with 703 points. She had a whopping 34 games in which she scored double digits, passing Gillom-Granderson for the most in a single season.
McMahon made this season her own, and she was widely recognized for it, highlighted by her accomplishments.
