BOOM! Ole Miss Lands Class of 2027 Four-Star EDGE Keysan Taylor

OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss head coach Pete Golding and defensive line coach Randall Joyner have landed another big-time recruit, picking up 2027 four-star defensive end Keysan Taylor who announced his commitment Saturday. Taylor is the third defensive line commit of the class.

Taylor, a native of Rockford, Illinois, chose the Rebels over Vanderbilt, Kentucky, and Tennessee among others. Coming in at six-foot-three, 215 pounds, Taylor is a big defensive end. He is currently ranked as the 28th EDGE in the class of 2027.

Taylor finished an impressive junior season, tallying 57 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, one interception, and six pass breakups. He also played tight end last season, racking up 17 catches for 348 yards and five touchdowns.

Taylor is definitely a defensive end at the next level. He is extremely bendy off the edge and wins with speed. Don’t get caught up in only the speed, though, because he is excellent at turning that speed into power. He is regularly the first player in the backfield, tackling the quarterback almost as soon as the ball is snapped. He is one of the quickest players on the field, and that’s at the defensive end position.

Taylor will be making the move from the Midwest to the ‘Sip, and he will certainly be a piece both Golding and Joyner will love to use. He will more than likely make an impact as soon as he gets on campus and will help usher in Golding’s first full recruiting class as head coach.
