Former and Current Players Congratulate Ole Miss Head Coach Mike Bianco on the 1000th Win of His Career

OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss head coach Mike Bianco reached an incredible milestone Saturday evening in the Rebels 3-2 win over No. 24 Georgia. The victory marks the 1,000th win of his career and his 900th win at the helm of Ole Miss.

His 100 wins prior to becoming head coach in Oxford came at McNeese State, where he served as skipper for three seasons.

Bianco talked after the win over the Bulldogs Saturday on the achievement, giving credit to his players and coaches, past and present.

Baseball is a crazy game. The truth is, you get here because of a lot of great players. I mean that, sincerely. I’ve been here for 24 years and we’ve had some great teams, some great coaches. I don’t throw it, I don’t hit it and I don’t catch it. To get to this point — 1,000 wins — you don’t do it without a lot of great players winning baseball games. This is really a team and program type of accolade. The other thing is, you don’t do it without a fan base that’s passionate and wants to win and has to continue to show up. Everybody gets a piece of this.

Mike Bianco on reaching 1000 career wins

Coach Bianco’s Rebels have won two SEC tournament titles (2006, 2018), one SEC regular-season championship (2009), and four SEC West titles.

He has taken the Rebels to 18 postseason appearances in his 24 years in Oxford, including eight Super Regionals and two trips to Omaha for the College World Series, including the memorable 2022 run where the Rebels won the national title.

Coach Bianco is the winningest coach in Ole Miss history and also ranks third in the Southeastern Conference in all-time wins.

In 2022 after taking home the national title, Bianco was named National Coach of the Year (D1Baseball, USA Baseball, the ABCA, and Collegiate Baseball).

What They’re Saying

Ole Miss baseball released this video Sunday morning with former players congratulating Coach Bianco.

Former and current Ole Miss players also took to social media after Bianco notched his 1000th win. Here’s what some of them had to say about the remarkable milestone.

Congratulations to Coach Bianco and his family for this achievement, and thank you for all the blood, sweat and tears that went into building the Ole Miss baseball program. Hotty Toddy!
