2025 In-State Talent Kenzy West Takes a Visit to Ole Miss
OXFORD, Miss. — There is no stopping the momentum of spring in the ‘Sip. The Rebels continue to build, not only on the field in spring camp but also for the future of the program on the recruiting trail. Ole Miss is set to host more top 2025 prospects on Tuesday. (Click HERE for more on the visitors.)
Head coach Lane Kiffin and staff are making a strong push to keep their top in-state talent in the powder blue and Rebel red. One such Mississippi player who has plenty of eyes on him this spring is Kenzy West. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound athlete out of Hartfield Academy in Flowood, Miss., is visiting practice Tuesday in Oxford.
“This is my first time talking with them, but I love the way their program is run,” West told The Rebel Walk Monday evening before his visit.
“I’m looking forward to meeting the coaches, checking out the campus and hopefully getting an offer.”
Kenzy West on his visit to Ole Miss
The three-star West has been a game changer for Hartfield, making things happen whether on offense or defense.
As a wide receiver, West is like a symphony with his smooth route-running skills that quickly turn into quite the crescendo when you see him use his power and speed to go up for the reception. Last season he finished with 1,368 yards and 12 receiving touchdowns on 52 catches.
Defensively, he is tenacious when it comes to playing at the corner. While he may have just been put at that position midway in the season, one would assume by watching him he had been playing it for years. His ability to anticipate and know where an opposing route runner will go makes it no problem for him to track and quickly prey on his target.
There will definitely be a battle to earn his talent at the next level!
We asked West what schools are coming on strong in his recruitment at the moment.
“Arkansas State, Louisiana Tech, South Alabama, and UAB,” he replied.

There is still a long way to commitment day, but we asked West what his timeline will be.
“I will probably keep my recruitment open until the end of my football season,” he explained.
Again, there will be a battle to earn West’s talent at the next level! But if anyone can keep this type of talent in the ‘Sip, it’s the Lane Kiffin/Pete Golding duo.
We will keep you updated on this talented 2025 star.

Herring-Olvedo sees college football the way championship programs do—from inside the personnel room. Every evaluation, every roster move, every recruiting battle tells a bigger story about identity, culture, and how a program is built to win in December, not just July.
With more than 15 years covering the SEC and the national recruiting landscape, Herring-Olvedo has built a reputation as one of the sport’s most respected personnel-driven voices—blending film evaluation, roster construction, and long-term program vision through a true front-office lens. Her coverage of powerhouse brands like Ole Miss Rebels and Kentucky Wildcatshas consistently gone beyond headlines, focusing instead on the blueprint behind winning programs: development, fit, culture, and recruiting strategy.
That foundation was formed early at Brown University, where she worked in player personnel and recruiting while competing as a student-athlete. Inside those recruiting operations rooms, she learned how elite organizations are truly built—through relentless evaluation, relationship building, projection, and trust in the board. Those experiences shaped the way she studies the game today: part scout, part storyteller, part architect.
Her analysis and reporting have appeared across major platforms including ESPN, NFL coverage spaces, USA Today Sports, and Saturday Down South. She also brought her personnel-minded approach to the airwaves as an on-air analyst for the Wake Up 502 College Football Show on Big X Sports Radio 96.1, where she became known for combining film-room detail with a wider understanding of roster identity and program trajectory.
In 2025, covering the rise of Houston Cougars football under Willie Fritz reignited the part of the sport that first drew her into football—the culture, the edge, the belief that a roster can reshape an entire city. That inspiration led to the launch of Coogs 365 Sports, a platform built to cover Houston athletics through a true scouting and recruiting lens while connecting the emotion of the game to the heartbeat of H-Town.
Now, Herring-Olvedo returns to The Rebel Walk where with an even deeper perspective shaped by years inside recruiting circles, national SEC coverage, and hands-on evaluation experience. Her return brings a familiar voice back to Ole Miss coverage—but with an evolved lens rooted in roster architecture, player development, and the modern realities of building championship-caliber football in the NIL and portal era.
For Herring-Olvedo, recruiting has never been about stars beside a name. It is about identifying competitors, projecting growth, and building a locker room capable of sustaining success. Her philosophy mirrors the best front offices in football: stack traits, trust culture, and never stop building.
