OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss added more depth to its pitching staff Monday as Coastal Carolina transfer Liam Doyle committed to the Rebels.

The 6-foot-2, 185-pound lefty finished his freshman campaign in 2023, notching a 3-1 record with a 4.15 ERA as opponents hit .206 against him.

He tallied 56.1 innings on the mound for the Chanticleers, made 23 appearances, recorded 69 strikeouts, and seven starts.

He earned All-Tournament Team honors for his performance in the Sun Belt tourney this season.

Doyle dominated in Coastal’s opening game of the 2023 NCAA tournament against Rider, striking out a career-high nine, allowing no hits and no runs.

The Derry, New Hampshire native was the No. 3-ranked 2022 prospect and the No. 1 left-handed pitcher in the state coming out of high school, according to Perfect Game. He was the No. 40 left-handed pitcher nationally and a two-time New Hampshire State Player of the Year by Prep Baseball Report in both 2021 and 2022.

He is the third pitcher the Rebels have acquired through the portal, joining Arkansas State pitcher Kyler Carmack and Southeastern’s Connor Spencer.

Ole Miss also brings in transfer infielder Andrew Fischer from Duke and outfielder Treyson Hughes, from Mercer.
