Former Ole Miss Rebel Latasha Lattimore selected 21st Overall in 2026 WNBA Draft

Ole Miss women’s basketball forward Latasha Lattimore has been drafted by the Chicago Sky with the 21st overall pick of the WNBA Draft. Lattimore was a huge contributor to the Lady Rebels this past season on both sides of the court.

Lattimore had quite the journey to Ole Miss. The Toronto native went from Texas to Miami to Virginia. She caught the eyes of the Rebels after her standout year for the Cavaliers where she averaged a near double-double with 14.3 points and a team-leading 8.2 rebounds per game. She was also a vital defender in the paint, tallying 69 total blocks that season, ranking 18th in the nation.  After her time with Virginia, she committed to Ole Miss and made her way to Oxford, Mississippi.

The 6’4 forward was the third-leading scorer for coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin’s squad with an average of 10.9 points per game. She also averaged 6.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game last season. Her season-high in points came against No. 5-ranked Vanderbilt at the time, where she exploded for 28 points. She went 12/13 from the field that game, along with eight rebounds as well. She recorded six double-doubles last season, four of those against conference opponents. Lattimore attacks and finishes strong around the rim, but can step out for a jump shot on occasion and knock it down.

Lattimore isn’t just effective on one side of the ball. Her defensive prowess is arguably the strongest part of her game. She was a standout defender at Virginia, as previously mentioned, which would translate to the Rebels’ defense this season. She recorded 74 blocks for Ole Miss, the second-most in program history. Lattimore averaged 2.1 rejections per game. She also tallied up 21 total steals this season.

All that said, there is more to defense than just statistics. Lattimore has a physical interior presence that allows her to grab rebounds and send shots packing. She is the definition of an elite rim protector. The length she has, along with being able to time it perfectly, is what makes her a fearsome forward to battle in the paint. Overall, Lattimore’s presence will be known on the court.

Lattimore has all the tools to succeed at the next step, as she contributes heavily on both ends of the floor. Her being drafted to the Sky gives her the chance to do so in front of a national audience.
