Family Feel and Big-Time Opportunity: 2026 4-Star Tight End Mack Sutter Explains Why Lane Kiffin’s Rebels Still Atop his List

OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin and his staff hosted Mack Sutter last week, an elite 2026 tight end, originally from Dunlap, Illinois.
According to On3 Sports, the four-star is a top 100 player in the entire class and the No. 2 player in the state of Illinois. In his interview with The Rebel Walk following his visit, Sutter recognized the hospitality and warm atmosphere of Oxford.
“What stood out to me was how much I felt like family between the coaches and players.”

Standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 225 pounds, Sutter possesses an incredible frame with room to grow heading into his senior year. Despite his impressive size, Sutter’s athleticism and ability to catch jump balls immediately stand out on film.

Having the potential to play on the line of scrimmage and out wide, Mack gave insight as to why Kiffin’s offensive system is appealing to him.
“I can see myself in Coach Kiffin’s offense by being a flexed-out tight end and a big-time playmaker who can always dominate the run game.”

In addition to the Rebels, Illinois, Alabama, Ohio State, and Penn State have also been involved in Sutter’s recruitment process. When we asked him about a potential college decision, Mack said that he plans to make a public commitment in early July.
“I will make a decision in the first few days of July. As I take these last visits, I’m just seeing what and where feels best deep down. Ole Miss is still at the top for me, especially after a great weekend.”
