Quarterback Recruiting Rolls On as Ole Miss Lands 2027 QB Crews Jenkins
OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss has landed a second quarterback in the 2027 class, and this time it’s three-star Brentwood, Tennessee native Crews Jenkins, who joins QB commit Keegan Croucher as part of an already intriguing signal-caller haul.

Jenkins, a 6-foot, 180-pound quarterback, brings a skill set that jumps out immediately on film. He makes full use of his physical tools, showing the ability to deliver throws to every level of the field with confidence and timing. More than just arm talent, though, Jenkins’ feel for the position stands out. He has developed into a creative playmaker who can extend plays and find space when things break down — a trait that has drawn comparisons in style to Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss.
In his junior season, Jenkins completed 139 of 203 passes for 1,827 yards with 22 touchdowns and seven interceptions, showing both production and efficiency. But the numbers only tell part of the story. On tape, Jenkins consistently shows anticipation — getting the ball out before receivers come open — and a quick release that allows him to operate effectively in rhythm.
He’s equally comfortable layering throws over defenders in the middle of the field as he is driving the ball to the perimeter. That combination of touch and velocity gives him versatility in a modern offense, particularly one that emphasizes tempo and spacing.
Jenkins also displays strong pocket awareness, knowing when to stand in and deliver versus when to escape and create. He’s not just reacting — he’s processing. That mental side of his game, paired with solid accuracy and vision, gives him a strong foundation as a developmental quarterback prospect.
Another element that stands out is his athleticism. While not necessarily labeled a dual-threat, Jenkins has enough mobility to extend plays and pick up yards when needed. In today’s SEC, that ability to avoid negative plays and keep drives alive is often just as valuable as explosive rushing production.
Jenkins joins blue-chip recruit Keegan Croucher as part of the 2027 class, giving Ole Miss two quarterbacks with different but complementary skill sets. Croucher brings a higher recruiting profile, while Jenkins offers polish, instincts, and upside — a combination that creates competition and depth early in the cycle.
Quarterbacks coach Joe Judge has been instrumental in assembling the group, continuing to prioritize traits that translate to game situations: decision-making, adaptability, and football IQ. Rather than chasing a single archetype, Ole Miss appears focused on building a room with multiple options and long-term flexibility.
From a broader recruiting perspective, landing two quarterbacks this early in the 2027 cycle is notable. It allows the staff to be selective moving forward while also sending a message about stability at the position. With Trinidad Chambliss currently leading the program and younger talent developing behind him, the Rebels are clearly thinking several years ahead.
Pete Golding and his staff are continuing to build toward sustained success, and quarterback recruiting remains at the center of that vision. If both Jenkins and Croucher continue on their current trajectories, Ole Miss could be setting up one of its more competitive quarterback rooms in the coming years.
For now, the Rebels have added another promising piece — one that brings both production and potential to Oxford.
