Potential Flips in the ‘Sip? Ole Miss Makes Push for Two 2026 SEC Commits
OXFORD, Miss. — While there wasn’t the annual Grove Bowl football game this spring, there was Meet the Rebels Day today, as well as many other things brewing for Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss.
On Friday, the head coach and his staff landed another in-state talent in defensive back Braylen Williams out of Tupelo High School. Could there be some possible ‘flips to the ‘Sip’ in the near future?
A number of Ole Miss prospects are on campus this weekend, but keep your eyes on two that could be potential flips brewing.
Braylon Outlaw
Class of 2026 Pike Road (AL) Linebacker Braylon Outlaw may be verbally committed to Tennessee (since November, 2024), but that hasn’t stopped the 6-foot, 200-pounder from returning back to take in Oxford and Ole Miss. Outlaw is in Oxford this weekend, and you can bet his teammate, 2026 running back Ja’Michael Jones, who is committed to Ole Miss, will be at the forefront doing his best to help flip Outlaw to Oxford.

During his junior campaign, Outlaw made quite the impact on both sides of the ball. He tallied 147 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 INTs, and 1 defensive touchdown. He also made his way to the end zone with four touchdowns on the offensive side of the ball. While he remains committed to the Vols, expect the Rebels — who are looking to rebuild their secondary — to remain persistent with Outlaw.
Emanuel Tucker
While Mississippi State has won the initial commitment battle for elite, four-star New Albany lineman Emanuel Tucker, it appears Ole Miss could is ready to go all out to win the war in what could be a pivotal flip and big win in the trenches for the Rebels’ 2026 class. Tucker is also expected to be on campus for Meet the Rebels.
Tucker, who committed to State in February, is ranked the No. 19 offensive tackle in the country and the No. 9 overall player in the state of Mississippi.
He is a kid who we have watched for some time. The multi-sport athlete is extremely gifted no matter what sport he is participating in. What sets him apart and makes him such a highly coveted player is that he is a raw player with size and physicality that will definitely develop at the next level. He has experience on both sides of the ball and has the makings of an elite tackle.
So while Spring Ball may have a new look, it hasn’t slowed down the momentum for the Rebels on the recruiting trail. Stay tuned to The Rebel Walk for all the latest from Meet the Rebels and the prospects on hand this weekend in the ‘Sip.

Herring-Olvedo sees college football the way championship programs do—from inside the personnel room. Every evaluation, every roster move, every recruiting battle tells a bigger story about identity, culture, and how a program is built to win in December, not just July.
With more than 15 years covering the SEC and the national recruiting landscape, Herring-Olvedo has built a reputation as one of the sport’s most respected personnel-driven voices—blending film evaluation, roster construction, and long-term program vision through a true front-office lens. Her coverage of powerhouse brands like Ole Miss Rebels and Kentucky Wildcatshas consistently gone beyond headlines, focusing instead on the blueprint behind winning programs: development, fit, culture, and recruiting strategy.
That foundation was formed early at Brown University, where she worked in player personnel and recruiting while competing as a student-athlete. Inside those recruiting operations rooms, she learned how elite organizations are truly built—through relentless evaluation, relationship building, projection, and trust in the board. Those experiences shaped the way she studies the game today: part scout, part storyteller, part architect.
Her analysis and reporting have appeared across major platforms including ESPN, NFL coverage spaces, USA Today Sports, and Saturday Down South. She also brought her personnel-minded approach to the airwaves as an on-air analyst for the Wake Up 502 College Football Show on Big X Sports Radio 96.1, where she became known for combining film-room detail with a wider understanding of roster identity and program trajectory.
In 2025, covering the rise of Houston Cougars football under Willie Fritz reignited the part of the sport that first drew her into football—the culture, the edge, the belief that a roster can reshape an entire city. That inspiration led to the launch of Coogs 365 Sports, a platform built to cover Houston athletics through a true scouting and recruiting lens while connecting the emotion of the game to the heartbeat of H-Town.
Now, Herring-Olvedo returns to The Rebel Walk where with an even deeper perspective shaped by years inside recruiting circles, national SEC coverage, and hands-on evaluation experience. Her return brings a familiar voice back to Ole Miss coverage—but with an evolved lens rooted in roster architecture, player development, and the modern realities of building championship-caliber football in the NIL and portal era.
For Herring-Olvedo, recruiting has never been about stars beside a name. It is about identifying competitors, projecting growth, and building a locker room capable of sustaining success. Her philosophy mirrors the best front offices in football: stack traits, trust culture, and never stop building.
