First College Football Playoff Rankings of Season Released: Where did the Rebels Land?
OXFORD, Miss. — The first College Football Playoff rankings for the season were released this evening, and Ole Miss comes in at No. 16.

The SEC has eight teams in the first round of rankings: Georgia (3), Texas (5), Tennessee (7), Alabama (11), A&M (14), LSU (15), Ole Miss (16) and Missouri (22).
The complete Top 25 for Nov. 5 is as follows:

4) Miami
5) Texas
6) Penn State
7) Tennessee
8) Indiana

10) Notre Dame
11) Alabama
12) Boise State

Throughout the 2024-25 College Football Playoff season, we’ll get six weekly playoff rankings shows to give us a look at where things stand. Following tonight’s rankings, the CFP will release through the sixth and final reveal on Sunday, December 8 (Selection Sunday).
The full schedule of CFP Top 25 rankings releases is below:
- 6-7 p.m. CT Tuesday, Nov. 5
- 7:30-8 p.m. CT Tuesday, Nov. 12*
- 6-7 p.m CT Tuesday, Nov. 19
- 7-8 p.m. CT Tuesday, Nov. 26
- 6-6:30 p.m. CT Tuesday, Dec. 3
- 11-3 p.m. CT Sunday, Dec. 8 (Selection Day)
*Approximate start time. Show will be between the State Farm Champions Classic games.
