Report: Chris Kiffin returns to Ole Miss staff to join brother, head coach Lane Kiffin
OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin is adding a familiar and strong analyst to his staff, as younger brother Chris Kiffin will be reuniting with him in Oxford, per ESPN’s Chris Low on Sunday.
The Kiffin brothers are back together. Chris is joining older brother Lane as an analyst at @OleMissFB. Chris was Lane’s DC at FAU in 2017 and spent the past six years in the NFL. Kiffin continues to accumulate a wealth of experience, both NFL and college, on his staff.

One can only imagine their dad, the late and legendary coach Monte Kiffin, smiling down as he watches his two beloved boys coach together once again. And one can only imagine how nice it will be for Lane — who will so much miss the presence of his father with the team — to have his brother there with him.
For the past six years, Chris Kiffin has coached in the NFL, most recently serving in Houston as the Texans’ linebackers coach. He spent two years in San Francisco as the 49ers’ pass rush specialist and three season in Cleveland as the Browns’ defensive line coach.
This will be be the second time Chris has worked for older brother, Lane. And it will be the third time he has coached at Ole Miss.
Chris was a grad assistant for former Rebel head coach Ed Oregeron in 2007. He then went back to God’s Country in 2012 to serve as former Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze’s defensive line coach and defensive recruiting coordinator.
Chris then left in 2017 after being hired as Lane’s defensive coordinator at Florida Atlantic. As many have noted, that season became Lane Kiffin’s best as a head coach (until 2023 in Oxford). After Chris joined him, Lane took FAU from the 3-9 bottom-dweller he inherited to an 11-3 team that won the Conference USA Championship. The Kiffins’ Owls finished on a 10-game winning streak.
Welcome home, Chris. Hotty Toddy!
