Will McCausland
He joins fellow transfer, Collin Reuter, a catcher coming to Oxford via BYU.
A native of Pennsylvania, the 6-foot, 190-pound McCausland entered the transfer portal after spending two seasons at St. Joe’s. He recently concluded his sophomore season, notching 91 strikeouts across 81.0 innings pitched. He finished 4-4 on the season, allowing 105 hits, 49 runs and 20 walks in 15 appearances. His ERA for 2024 was 4.78.
McCausland was named Atlantic 10 Pitcher of the Week back on February 27.
St. Joseph’s athletic website described his winning performance as follows:
“McCausland dazzled for the second start in a row, tossing six shutout innings and earning the win as the Hawks would go on to beat Gardner-Webb, 6-2, on Friday afternoon. The Harleysville, Pennsylvania, native did not allow a runner past second base, scattering three hits and walking one while striking out an Atlantic 10 season-best 10 batters.”
In his two seasons with the Hawks, McCausland went 9-7 and struck out 159 batters of the 694 he faced. He allowed 192 hits and 95 runs for a cumulative 5.09 ERA. He gave up 41 walks in 29 appearances (155.2 IP) — all of which were starts.
Players have until Tuesday, July 2 to enter their names into the transfer portal.
