Rebel Walk Recruiting: Three top 2025 defensive recruits set to visit Ole Miss this week
OXFORD, Miss. — Today is an exciting day for Ole Miss football as Lane Kiffin’s spring practices ramp up. The team will return to the field for practice this morning, and we’ll be there for as much as media is allowed to watch. After practice, Coach Kiffin will hold a press conference with select players available.
It’s also a big week because defensive coordinator Pete Golding is expected to welcome three of the best defenders in the 2025 class: edge rusher Julius Holly, defensive lineman Andrew Maddox, and linebacker/safety Jarcoby Hopson Jr.
Julius Holly
Standing at 6’5″ and weighing 220 pounds, the edge rusher out of Alpharetta, Georgia, possesses incredible potential. In his junior season, Holly tallied 57 total tackles, three deflections, and eight sacks for Alpharetta High School. Other than Ole Miss, it has been reported that the four-star has drawn interest from Stanford, Tennessee, and Georgia.
He is expected to visit today.

Andrew Maddox
Mississippi native Andrew Maddox is a major target in the ’25 class and will likely be rated a five-star after his senior season. The 6’4″, 285-pound big man announced his top 12 schools earlier in March and included schools like Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Auburn, Georgia, Texas, LSU, and more.
He is expected to visit Wednesday.

His brother Andrew is also currently a freshman quarterback for Ole Miss and is on campus practicing with the team as we speak. Andrew’s recruitment will be a tough one to pull off, but there is no doubt that the Rebs are heading in the right direction.
Jarcoby Hopson Jr.
Hopson is a highly rated four-star on every major recruiting platform and has included LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, Michigan State, Missouri, Arkansas, Texas, Mississippi State, Penn State, and Miami in his top 10. Hopson lives only an hour north of the Ole Miss campus and has been to Oxford numerous times.
He is expected to be back on campus today.

His brother, Jarnorris Hopson, is also playing at Ole Miss after he signed with the Rebs out of junior college in February. Additionally, Hopson will be visiting his former high school teammate, Kam Franklin, a freshman edge rusher for Ole Miss. Similar to Maddox, Pete Golding is right where he wants to be in this recruitment.
