Ole Miss’ Coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin to Serve as Head Coach of the Bahamian Senior Women’s National Team

NASSAU, Bahamas – (Release) Coming off of its third regular season in-a-row with 20 plus wins and leading Ole Miss women’s basketball to a historic mark with a program best 12 SEC victories, head coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin is returning to the helm of the Bahamian Senior Women’s National team for the period of 2024-27.

It is an honor to return back to my duties with the Senior Women’s National Team as Head Coach!  I think this is the perfect time to revitalize women’s basketball in the Bahamas and start our journey to 2028 Olympics.  I am asking all that are able, to support our women’s programs.  There is no doubt in my mind that we too can represent the 242 in an outstanding way on the national scene.

Coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin

McPhee-McCuin is back in action leading her native country, following her first stint from 2014-17. Under her guidance, the Bahamas won the 2015 CBC Basketball Championship for women, as the best national team in the Caribbean.

Her most recent experience on the national level came in 2022, as McPhee-McCuin served as an assistant coach for the Bahamian Senior Men’s national team during World Cup Qualifiers. The historic honor allowed McPhee-McCuin to become the first woman to coach with the men’s senior national team.

In McPhee-McCuin’s sixth year in Oxford, Ole Miss set a program record with a best of 12 SEC wins and reached 20 wins for the third consecutive season. As a team, the Rebels held a school record 11 opponents under 50-points and shattered the single-season block record as a team with 188 rejections and counting.

Ole Miss looks to hear its name called for its third straight NCAA Tournament berth on Selection Sunday (March 17) at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN.
