On the Offer: 2026 Wide Receiver Daniel Odom talks about his offer from Ole Miss
OXFORD, Miss. — Even the snow days don’t stop the Ole Miss football staff from working overtime to find the next great Rebel. Head coach Lane Kiffin and crew looked out West recently and put an offer on the table for swiftly-rising 2026 wide receiver Daniel Odom out of St. John Bosco in California.
Blessed to have received an over from the university of Mississippi thank you Coach Kiffin and rest of the coaching staff !! @Lane_Kiffin @WeisJr_M @adamgorney @GregBiggins @ChadSimmons_ @boscofootball pic.twitter.com/ZjaUemeePR

We visited with Odom to talk about his offer from Ole Miss and more.
“It meant a lot,” Odom explained about hearing from Ole Miss. “I’ve seen great receivers come out of this organization. What stands out, I would say, is them offering me off of the great things I’ve shown off film.”
The 6-foot-2, 175-pounder out of Bellflower, CA is quickly establishing himself as a household name. He holds a number of Power 5 offers, including: Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Charlotte, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Oregon, San Diego State, Washington, and Washington State.
He holds SEC offers from: Georgia, Alabama, A&M, Tennessee, Texas, and now Ole Miss.
In addition to the Rebels, Odom is hearing quite a bit from a number of powerhouse schools. “I would say recently Texas, Tennessee, Oregon, and a few other schools.”
He’s not yet ranked by the national services, but that will be coming for sure. This young playmaker has a ton of upside with a tremendous amount of talent. Odom already has notched some big moments for St. John Bosco, where his athleticism on that big frame, along with his speediness when it comes to route-running, has been garnering notice.
He has the makings to evolve into an elite route runner, and the Rebels aren’t wasting time building a relationship with him.
Odom finished the season with 36 receptions for 548 yards and 7 TDs.

Odom talked about what is important to him as he navigates the recruiting process.
“I’m looking forward to the relationships I make and the schooling I can get. And the plays I’ll be able to make for the program.”

Odom tells us he is headed to Miami next week and has some additional places he hopes to visit. Perhaps with an Ole Miss offer in hand, Oxford will be one of his destinations along the way.
Odom has undeniable talent, and he is already setting the bar high for the 2026 pool of national recruits. We asked him what he feels his “x-factor” is when it comes to creating chaos for opposing defenses.
“My X factor would be I can make plays at the high point catch and make a man miss in the open field.”

Odom is a dynamic player from an elite high school program, and we look forward to keeping the Rebel faithful in the loop about him.
Hotty Toddy!
Herring-Olvedo sees college football the way championship programs do—from inside the personnel room. Every evaluation, every roster move, every recruiting battle tells a bigger story about identity, culture, and how a program is built to win in December, not just July.
With more than 15 years covering the SEC and the national recruiting landscape, Herring-Olvedo has built a reputation as one of the sport’s most respected personnel-driven voices—blending film evaluation, roster construction, and long-term program vision through a true front-office lens. Her coverage of powerhouse brands like Ole Miss Rebels and Kentucky Wildcatshas consistently gone beyond headlines, focusing instead on the blueprint behind winning programs: development, fit, culture, and recruiting strategy.
That foundation was formed early at Brown University, where she worked in player personnel and recruiting while competing as a student-athlete. Inside those recruiting operations rooms, she learned how elite organizations are truly built—through relentless evaluation, relationship building, projection, and trust in the board. Those experiences shaped the way she studies the game today: part scout, part storyteller, part architect.
Her analysis and reporting have appeared across major platforms including ESPN, NFL coverage spaces, USA Today Sports, and Saturday Down South. She also brought her personnel-minded approach to the airwaves as an on-air analyst for the Wake Up 502 College Football Show on Big X Sports Radio 96.1, where she became known for combining film-room detail with a wider understanding of roster identity and program trajectory.
In 2025, covering the rise of Houston Cougars football under Willie Fritz reignited the part of the sport that first drew her into football—the culture, the edge, the belief that a roster can reshape an entire city. That inspiration led to the launch of Coogs 365 Sports, a platform built to cover Houston athletics through a true scouting and recruiting lens while connecting the emotion of the game to the heartbeat of H-Town.
Now, Herring-Olvedo returns to The Rebel Walk where with an even deeper perspective shaped by years inside recruiting circles, national SEC coverage, and hands-on evaluation experience. Her return brings a familiar voice back to Ole Miss coverage—but with an evolved lens rooted in roster architecture, player development, and the modern realities of building championship-caliber football in the NIL and portal era.
For Herring-Olvedo, recruiting has never been about stars beside a name. It is about identifying competitors, projecting growth, and building a locker room capable of sustaining success. Her philosophy mirrors the best front offices in football: stack traits, trust culture, and never stop building.
