Ole Miss Men’s Basketball Signee John Bol Named a 2024 McDonald’s All-American

OXFORD, Miss.Four-star center and Ole Miss signee John Bol was named a 2024 McDonald’s All-American Tuesday afternoon, becoming just the second Rebel in program history to receive the nod. (Daeshun Ruffin was the first.)

The 7-foot-1 Bol will run with the East squad in the 2024 prep All-Star game, representing the Overtime Elite Basketball League. The League recently came to fame following the 2023 NBA draft after the Thompson Twins (Amen and Ausar) went 4th and 5th overall out of the OTE League.

Before his recent stint with Overtime Elite, Bol played for Christian Brothers College in Saint Louis, Missouri where he set a single-season school record with 97 blocks. Through 11 games so far this season with the Cold Hearts of Overtime Elite, Bol is averaging 10 points, 10 boards and a pair of blocks per game.

Bol signed his letter of intent to Ole Miss back in November, having been committed to the program since the summer of 2023. Chris Beard will have a 7-footer on his squad for the second straight season in Oxford once the top 50 player in the class of 2024 arrives in the ‘Sip.

The future Rebel big man will be in action in the McDonald’s All-American game on April 2nd at 5:30 CT in Houston, Texas inside the Toyota Center.
