Four-star, 2024 RB Kewan Lacy picks up two Crystal Balls to Ole Miss

OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss is in heavy pursuit of one of the most dynamic running backs in the 2024 class. Kewan Lacy, out of Lancaster, Texas, is seemingly down to Ole Miss and Alabama, with Ole Miss in the lead. Two national recruiting analysts, Steve Wiltfong and Mike Roach, from 247 Sports both entered predictions earlier today for Lacy to commit to Ole Miss.

Lacy, a four-star recruit according to the 247Sports Composite Index, is ranked the No. 20 running back in the nation. He decommitted from Nebraska in October, 2023.

Despite being listed as a running back, he also has the talent to play wide receiver, running a 4.48 40-yard dash. Lacy’s gift to gain yards after the catch in the backfield would be something he could use the second he arrived on campus for Lane Kiffin and the offense.

As recorded on the Dallas Morning News website, Lacy finished his senior year with 1,513 yards and 19 touchdowns as a running back. On the receiving end, he caught 17 passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns.

In addition to Lacy running a sub-4.5 40-yard dash, the running back also weighs 200 pounds, standing at 6’0 tall. According to Kewan’s Hudl, he also squats 415 pounds. Between his speed and physicality, Lacy presents a number of threats in the backfield.

Despite the transfer portal taking a lot of the attention away from high school recruiting, don’t take your eyes off this one, Ole Miss fans!
