No. 10 Ole Miss Leads Texas A&M 20-14 at Halftime

OXFORD, Miss. – No. 10 Ole Miss takes a 20-14 advantage over Texas A&M at halftime. The Rebels never trailed in the half.

Ole Miss jumped on the scoreboard first as Jaxson Dart connected with wide receiver Tre Harris for a 39-yard reception to the Aggies 21-yard line. Harris then got tackled at nine. On the next play, Quinshon Judkins ran into the end zone for the score.

The Rebels’ defense made it difficult for Texas A&M to get a drive going in the first quarter. Ole Miss’ defense held A&M to only three first downs in the quarter.

Texas A&M gained just 54 total yards in the opening 15 minutes of action. The Aggies carried the ball six times for 20 yards and Max Johnson passed nine times for 34 yards.

Dart finished the quarter with 75 yards in the air and 10 yards on the ground.

Ole Miss opened the second quarter by passing the ball down the field four times which was capped off by Dart finding Harris in the end zone on an 11-yard reception. Ole Miss went up 14-0 over the Aggies.

Harris found his way open in the first half and was targeted six times for 113 yards and a touchdown.

In the first half, Dart spun the ball around the field and found five different receivers for 242 yards with Harris and Dayton Wade (4) getting most of the targets .

Texas A&M got on the scoreboard in the second quarter on a blocked field goal attempt by Caden Davis from 41 yards out that was recovered by Jacoby Matthews for a 75-yard touchdown to make it Ole Miss 14, Texas A&M 7.

On the Rebels’ next possession, Dart and company responded with a touchdown to Jordan Watkins for a 29-yard touchdown. Ole Miss went for a two-point conversion after an unsportsmanlike penalty that was no good.

The Aggies answered with a touchdown on a 13-yard scamper by Le’Veon Moss. Ole Miss led A&M 20-14 at that point.

Johnson finished the half going 12-for-17 for 77 passing yards.

Dart went 15-for-19 in the half for 242 yards two touchdowns and no interceptions. Ole Miss gained 299 yards of total offense to the Aggies 134 total yards.

Texas A&M will receive the opening kick coming out of halftime.
