Talented Tennessee native and Class of 2024 linebacker Cameron Clark commits to Ole Miss

OXFORD, Miss. —  Tennessee native and class of 2024 linebacker Cameron Clark committed to Ole Miss Saturday afternoon while visiting the Rebels.

Clark, a highly-coveted, 6-foot-5, 240-pound linebacker, is from South Gibson High School in Medina, Tennessee. With defensive line Coach Joyner extending the offer, it is most likely Clark will be an edge in defensive coordinator Pete Golding’s defense.

Earlier this year, The Rebel Walk spoke with Clark after he received his offer from Ole Miss defensive line coach Randall Joyner.

It’s a blessing and a dream come true to get an offer from Ole Miss. What stood out to me is Coach Joyner really trying to get to know me as a person more than a player.

Clark holds offers from many schools, including: Louisville, Marshall, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Purdue, UAB, Vanderbilt, and Virginia Tech, among others.

While some schools have recruited him to play offense, as he also plays tight end in high school, Clark looks to stick to defense for the Rebels. He completed his junior season notching 70 tackles and 7.5 sacks while also scoring three TDs on offense.

Clark is the No. 72 athlete and the No. 19 player in the state of Tennessee, according to 247Sports. Indications are Clark will sign on Early Signing Day in December, 2023, and then enroll in January.

After the flip-and-commit from quarterback Austin Simmons earlier Saturday, the Rebels now have two prominent commits on the day. He marks the 10th commitment in the Rebels’ for the class of 2024.
