BREAKING: Oklahoma State transfer quarterback Spencer Sanders commits to Ole Miss

OXFORD, Miss. — The Ole Miss quarterback room that began the week with a lack of depth now finds itself as one of the deepest, most-talented in the country as former Oklahoma State quarterback transfer Spencer Sanders has committed to Lane Kiffin and the Rebels, as first reported by Chris Low.

A former four-star recruit, Sanders’ commitment comes on the heels of the Rebels receiving LSU-transfer Walker Howard’s pledge on Wednesday.

Sanders and Howard will be joining current Ole Miss starter Jaxson Dart, a transfer from USC last season who took over at QB following the departure of Matt Corral.

Sanders’ success at Oklahoma State

Sanders was a four-year starter for the Cowboys, playing in 44 games for head coach Mike Gundy. He will have one year of eligibility remaining. At Oklahoma State, he threw for 9,553 yards and 67 touchdowns with 40 interceptions.

The 23-year-old Sanders also rushed 493 times for 1,956 yards and 18 TDs in his career at OSU.

He missed three games in 2022 due to injury, but was still able to throw for 2,642 yards and 17 touchdowns with nine interceptions. He also ran for for 391 yards and eight scores TDs this season.

It is worth noting, this past season when Sanders was under center for the Cowboys, the team was 7-3. When he was out due to injury, they were 0-3.

Two seasons ago in 2021, Sanders led his OSU team to a 12-2 record and a Big 12 Championship berth before then garnering a win over Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl.

Fasten your seatbelt, Rebs! This QB room just got quite interesting.
