BOOM! Ole Miss gets commit from 2026 4-star wide receiver Jameson Powell

OXFORD, Miss. — When you know, you know. Class of 2026 four-star wide receiver Jameson Powell is an Ole Miss Rebel, announcing his commitment via social media Wednesday afternoon.

Powell, out of Folsom High School in California, had his pick of top collegiate programs, and it appears the strong relationships forged by head coach Lane Kiffin and wide receivers coach George McDonald have paid off.

We had the opportunity to talk with Powell about his recruitment recently and what stood out about the Rebels and more. Make no mistake, this is a huge win for the foundational depth of the Rebels wide receiver room.

Powell, a Max Preps All American, owns big playmaking ability — and he’s got a great high school quarterback throwing him the ball.  Ole Miss recruit Ryder Lyons, also a top priority for Lane Kiffin and company, is Powell’s QB at Folsom.

The 5-foot-11, 170-pound Powell, a speedster at the receiver position who is projected to play in the slot in college, always finds a way to make something happen in critical situations.

The No. 63 wideout in the nation and the No. 42 overall athlete out of California marks the second verbal commit for the Rebels’ 2026 class, joining fellow wide receiver Zion Legree out of Pine Forest in Florida.

When it came to securing a commit from Powell, Ole Miss edged out Oregon, Washington and Arizona to land one of the toughest wideouts to cover in the 2026 class.

Here is just a small sampling of what the Rebels are getting with Powell.

Powell’s chemistry with QB Lyons his undeniable, with Powell sharing that Lyons was the reason he went to Folsom to play. While Lyons wont be making his decision until later, perhaps this could be a foreshadowing of things to come for Ole Miss.

The Rebels are getting hot on the 2026 recruiting trail!

Welcome to The Sip, Jameson.
