EA Sports releases top-25 ranking for College Football 25, shows little respect for the Rebels
Oxford, Miss. – EA Sports is less than one week away from releasing its new edition of College Football 25, and earlier this morning, the game announced its official top-25 ranking, putting Ole Miss as the 15th-best team.
1. Georgia
2. Ohio State
3. Oregon
4. Alabama
5. Texas
6. Clemson
7. Notre Dame
8. LSU
9. Penn State
10. Utah
11. Michigan
12. Florida State
13. Miami
14. Texas A&M
15. Ole Miss
16. Colorado
17. Oklahoma
18. Wisconsin
19. USC
20. Virginia Tech
21. NC State
22. Kansas
23. Arizona
24. Oklahoma State
25. Iowa
With Lane Kiffin’s squad coming in at No. 15 and finishing the previous season with a better record than Clemson, Notre Dame, LSU, Penn State, Utah, Miami, and Texas A&M — all of whom are ranked higher in the game –the ranking does not make any sense, whatsoever. Ole Miss also has three players ranked in the top 100 of the game in Jaxson Dart, Walter Nolen and Tre Harris.
In addition to their record, the Rebels also returned numerous key starters while adding the No. 1 transfer portal class in the country, according to 247 Sports.
To make matters even more interesting, Colorado, who is coming off a 4-8 season, was ranked only one spot behind the Rebels. It’s also important to take into account that last week, EA claimed Ole Miss as the 13th-best offense and did not even put the defense in the top 25. With the talent, coaching, and leadership on this Ole Miss squad, EA will likely need to adjust its ratings quickly into the 2024 season.
Here’s what Josh Pate has to say about the Rebels:
