BREAKING: Ole Miss Football Adds Houston Transfer Cornerback Isaiah Hamilton
OXFORD, Miss. –Â Ole Miss defensive coordinator Pete Golding tweeted a shark emoji earlier today — signifying a potential commit on the horizon. And, indeed, that’s what happened as the Rebels have secured their first defensive commitment of the spring transfer portal window in the form of former Houston Cougar cornerback Isaiah Hamilton.
After losing Michigan transfer Amorion Walker to the portal a couple of days ago and having both Deantre Prince and Daijhan Anthony get drafted to the NFL, the secondary seemed to be the final point of focus to strengthen this Ole Miss roster.
Fortunately, Pete Golding was able to do just that.
Last season as a junior, the 6-foot-1 corner started all 12 games for Houston, collected 50 tackles, four interceptions, and forced a fumble. The most notable of his interceptions occurred against Oklahoma State when Hamilton notched a 57-yard pick-six.
Most impressively, Isaiah recorded multiple tackles in every single contest in 2023.

Before joining Houston, Hamilton took major strides in developing at Texas Southern, where he spent his first three years of college ball. In 2022, he recorded five interceptions and was eventually named to the Southwestern Athletic Conference first team.
I would expect a direct impact from Hamilton to this secondary and would not be surprised to see him play on the other side of the field from Tre Amos, another Ole Miss defensive back who has proven to be extremely effective in practice.
