TCU standout DE Khari Coleman transfers to Ole Miss, joins Rebels’ No. 1-ranked Transfer Class
OXFORD, Miss. — There’s no such thing as “offseason” for the Portal King, also known as Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin, as he continues to reload the Rebels’ roster heading into spring. On Tuesday, Ole Miss picked up a commitment from TCU transfer defensive end Khari Coleman.
When Coleman, a Louisiana native who is nicknamed “Duke,” hit the portal last week, Ole Miss was quickly on his list of top schools.
Coleman took to his IG Tuesday to officially announce his commitment to Ole Miss. He later followed up on Twitter, thanking TCU for his time with team and letting Rebel Nation know he is on the way to the ‘SIP.
“I appreciate all that TCU has done for me over the past 2 years. Thank you to my coaches and teammates for all they have done to help me. With that being said, I’m heading to the SEC! Hotty Toddy I’m on my way.”

The 6-foot-2, 221-pound Coleman is likely to make an immediate impact and complement the defensive roster for the Rebels.
Big 12 Co-Defensive Freshman of the Year at TCU
During his freshman season as a Horned Frog, Coleman notched 33 tackles and 15 tackles for loss, along with 3 sacks, which placed him second in the Big 12 and seventh in the country. For his efforts, he earned Big 12 Co-Defensive Freshman of the Year honors.
Unfortunately this past season, Coleman struggled with injuries and was only able to participate in nine games. He made four starts and finished 2021 with 19 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss.
Perfectly executed spin by sophomore ED Khari Coleman! He attacks the outside shoulder, chops the hand, & stabs the back!

As a senior at G.W. Carver in New Orleans, Coleman notched 27.5 sacks, ranking him 4th in the country in 2019, and tallied 33 hurries and 5 forced fumbles for the Rams. He was named 11-4A Defensive Player of the Year.
Coleman has a heck of a track record as a consistent impact player wherever he has played, and Rebels should expect that to continue in Oxford.

Coleman Joins Nation’s Top Transfer Portal Class
Ole Miss has 12 transfers who have either already enrolled and are currently on campus or have committed to join the program this summer, and the class is currently ranked as 247Sports’ No. 1 Transfer Class in the nation.
Coleman will have a familiar face in Oxford with him as he will be reunited with former TCU running back Zach Evans, a January, 2022 commit, who has already enrolled at Ole Miss.
The “Duke of Oxford” is on the way and ready to dominate. Welcome to the Sip!

Lee Ann serves as the Director of Recruiting for The Rebel Walk. She sees college football the way championship programs do—from inside the personnel room. Every evaluation, every roster move, every recruiting battle tells a bigger story about identity, culture, and how a program is built to win in December, not just July.
With more than 15 years covering the SEC and the national recruiting landscape, Herring-Olvedo has built a reputation as one of the sport’s most respected personnel-driven voices—blending film evaluation, roster construction, and long-term program vision through a true front-office lens. Her coverage of powerhouse brands like Ole Miss Rebels and Kentucky Wildcatshas consistently gone beyond headlines, focusing instead on the blueprint behind winning programs: development, fit, culture, and recruiting strategy.
That foundation was formed early at Brown University, where she worked in player personnel and recruiting while competing as a student-athlete. Inside those recruiting operations rooms, she learned how elite organizations are truly built—through relentless evaluation, relationship building, projection, and trust in the board. Those experiences shaped the way she studies the game today: part scout, part storyteller, part architect.
Her analysis and reporting have appeared across major platforms including ESPN, NFL coverage spaces, USA Today Sports, and Saturday Down South. She also brought her personnel-minded approach to the airwaves as an on-air analyst for the Wake Up 502 College Football Show on Big X Sports Radio 96.1, where she became known for combining film-room detail with a wider understanding of roster identity and program trajectory.
In 2025, covering the rise of Houston Cougars football under Willie Fritz reignited the part of the sport that first drew her into football—the culture, the edge, the belief that a roster can reshape an entire city. That inspiration led to the launch of Coogs 365 Sports, a platform built to cover Houston athletics through a true scouting and recruiting lens while connecting the emotion of the game to the heartbeat of H-Town.
Now, Herring-Olvedo returns to The Rebel Walk where with an even deeper perspective shaped by years inside recruiting circles, national SEC coverage, and hands-on evaluation experience. Her return brings a familiar voice back to Ole Miss coverage—but with an evolved lens rooted in roster architecture, player development, and the modern realities of building championship-caliber football in the NIL and portal era.
For Herring-Olvedo, recruiting has never been about stars beside a name. It is about identifying competitors, projecting growth, and building a locker room capable of sustaining success. Her philosophy mirrors the best front offices in football: stack traits, trust culture, and never stop building.
