4-star wide out Jones has Rebels in the mix

Four-star wide receiver Mykel Jones made his presence known via Twitter late last Thursday night, saying that he wants to be a football member of the Southeastern Conference. Jones narrowed his list of schools down to four: Ole Miss, Alabama, Tennessee, and LSU.

“I have been rushing during interviews and by media but after sitting down and discussing with my family, I have focused in on four schools,” Jones said in a statement that appeared on his Twitter account.

Jones’ announcement comes days an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The 6-foot, 181-pound prospect was a teammate of 2015 Alabama signee Daylon Charlot at Patterson High School and is close friends with pro-style quarterback Shea Patterson, who’s part of the Rebels’ 2016 class, which is currently No. 3 in the SEC and No. 5 the country.

Jones is ranked No. 11 in the state of Louisiana and No. 32 at his position by 247Sports. The Crystal Ball Predictions on 247Sports.com have the Crimson Tide as the frontrunners for Jones’ services.
