Ole Miss’ Will Furniss announces his intent to return to the Rebels: ‘I’m coming back for sure, and I’m super happy about it’

In the middle of all the chaos the transfer portal has brought to the Ole Miss baseball team recently, Will Furniss decided to take his opinions to X (formerly known as Twitter), to express that he will be staying in Oxford to play another season for head coach Mike Bianco.
The Rebel Walk confirmed the decision with Furniss, and he made it clear he loves Ole Miss and Oxford.
“Yes! I’m coming back for sure, and I’m super happy about it.“

With 13 Ole Miss players from the 2024 roster already in the portal and just three commitments arriving out of the portal for the Rebels, this decision by Furniss provides stability for the Rebel skipper, knowing he will have a familiar face in next season’s lineup.
Furniss batted .236 this past season with nine home runs and 31 RBIs. The Rebels’ designated hitter saw time as a first baseman throughout the season, improving during SEC play as he made his money at the plate in a couple of clutch spots for Ole Miss, including this walk-off against Mississippi State.
