Recruit Reactions: Ole Miss prospects offer their thoughts on the Rebels’ exciting win over A&M
OXFORD, Miss. — Week 10 for the Rebels was a thriller to kick-off the November slate of play. When it was all said and done, Ole Miss made the big plays and stops to edge out a talented Texas A&M team at the Vaught, 38-35.
The Rebels will now hit the road for the much-anticipated SEC showdown against Georgia in Athens Saturday. Ole Miss improves to 8-1 overall and 5-1 in the SEC West.
While head coach Lane Kiffin and the Rebels continue winning on the field, they’re also setting the tone as they attract future prospects to Ole Miss in a crucial month of recruiting with early signing day quickly approaching.
The Rebel sideline in Vaught-Hemingway was filled with many talented playmakers this weekend, and the team could not have set a stage more picturesque than what unfolded against the Aggies Saturday evening in Oxford. The Rebel Walk had a chance to catch up with some of the recruits to get their take on the win over Texas A&M.
“It was a great game. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the electricity in the stadium.“
2024 5-star DL Kam Franklin, Lake Cormorant (MS)
“I love the offense that Lane Kiffin runs with their quarterback. I love the high tempo and quick throws, then taking shots deep. I feel real good about their system and I believe I fit perfectly. I loved the atmosphere and for it to be a sold out crowd for an 11am kickoff was awesome! It felt like a small town community but with over 100,000 people. I loved it.”
2026 QB Noah Grubbs, Lake Mary (FL)
“Everything stood out, how everyone made plays for each other. It was a team effort from the get go. Even after the game got close, they overcame adversity and just found a great way to win!! The game vibe was unlike anything I ever experienced before. Everyone was tuned in and supporting the team since kickoff.”
2025 3-star Safety Amarion Fortenberry, Columbia (MS)
“It was a great gameday atmosphere. The crowd was really involved in every aspect of the game. The defense did what they had to do to secure the win.”
2026 4-star CB Bralan Womack, Hartfield Academy (MS)
“Watching the team compete and watching them play four full quarters is what stood out to me the most. Coming into the locker room hype with Lane Kiffin, the players, and the coaching staff is a vibe itself.”
2025 3-star LB Jaylon Parnell, Pascagoula (Miss.)
“The thing that stood out most to me were the fans and the players, all so welcoming and the environment was electric. That will have been my second time down in Oxford. I came down earlier in the summer for camp and said I had to be back for a game and I made it!! Everything was amazing. The Rebels played great and faced a really good defense but they pulled through. The defensive line on Ole Miss played good too. I love what Coach Joyner is doing with them and can’t wait to get down there for an OV this summer.“
3-Star DL, Triston Abram, Christian Brothers College High School, St. Louis (MO)
“The OL was very fast and the tempo was executed very well. They all had a little bit of character to them which I liked and they all played as one which was noticeable. This was the best gameday atmosphere I’ve been a part of and it was amazing. It was loud the whole time and every fan was into the game the whole time.“
Jack Lange, 3-star OL, Eureka High School, Eureka (MO)

Lee Ann serves as the Director of Recruiting for The Rebel Walk. She sees college football the way championship programs do—from inside the personnel room. Every evaluation, every roster move, every recruiting battle tells a bigger story about identity, culture, and how a program is built to win in December, not just July.
With more than 15 years covering the SEC and the national recruiting landscape, Herring-Olvedo has built a reputation as one of the sport’s most respected personnel-driven voices—blending film evaluation, roster construction, and long-term program vision through a true front-office lens. Her coverage of powerhouse brands like Ole Miss Rebels and Kentucky Wildcatshas consistently gone beyond headlines, focusing instead on the blueprint behind winning programs: development, fit, culture, and recruiting strategy.
That foundation was formed early at Brown University, where she worked in player personnel and recruiting while competing as a student-athlete. Inside those recruiting operations rooms, she learned how elite organizations are truly built—through relentless evaluation, relationship building, projection, and trust in the board. Those experiences shaped the way she studies the game today: part scout, part storyteller, part architect.
Her analysis and reporting have appeared across major platforms including ESPN, NFL coverage spaces, USA Today Sports, and Saturday Down South. She also brought her personnel-minded approach to the airwaves as an on-air analyst for the Wake Up 502 College Football Show on Big X Sports Radio 96.1, where she became known for combining film-room detail with a wider understanding of roster identity and program trajectory.
In 2025, covering the rise of Houston Cougars football under Willie Fritz reignited the part of the sport that first drew her into football—the culture, the edge, the belief that a roster can reshape an entire city. That inspiration led to the launch of Coogs 365 Sports, a platform built to cover Houston athletics through a true scouting and recruiting lens while connecting the emotion of the game to the heartbeat of H-Town.
Now, Herring-Olvedo returns to The Rebel Walk where with an even deeper perspective shaped by years inside recruiting circles, national SEC coverage, and hands-on evaluation experience. Her return brings a familiar voice back to Ole Miss coverage—but with an evolved lens rooted in roster architecture, player development, and the modern realities of building championship-caliber football in the NIL and portal era.
For Herring-Olvedo, recruiting has never been about stars beside a name. It is about identifying competitors, projecting growth, and building a locker room capable of sustaining success. Her philosophy mirrors the best front offices in football: stack traits, trust culture, and never stop building.
