Kiffin Joins Vaught as Second Rebel Coach with Two 10-Win Seasons
OXFORD, Miss. –(Release) Lane Kiffin joined some exclusive company Thursday night when No. 12 Ole Miss football closed its 2023 regular season with an Egg Bowl win over rival Mississippi State.
The Rebels improved to 10-2 on the year, giving Kiffin his second 10-win season in the last three years, placing him alongside legendary Ole Miss football coach John Vaught as the only coaches in program history with multiple 10-win seasons. Vaught notched four double-digit win seasons during his tenure.
It was Ole Miss’ ninth 10-win season in its history, and just its second 10-win regular season. Both 10-win regular seasons have come under Kiffin. The first came in 2021, when the Rebels went 10-2 in the regular season and earned a Sugar Bowl berth.
Both this season and 2021 included a perfect 7-0 home record. Ole Miss’ only defeats this year came on the road at No. 1 Georgia and No. 8 Alabama.
Kiffin and the Rebels now await their 2023-24 bowl destination. Bowl info will be sent to Ole Miss football season ticket holders via email once the bowl selection announcement has been made.
