Reports: Ole Miss running back Quinshon Judkins “doubtful” for Georgia Tech game

OXFORD, Miss. — ESPN’s Chris Low reported Saturday morning Ole Miss preseason All-American running back Quinshon Judkins has been downgraded from “questionable” in tonight’s game against Georgia Tech to “doubtful.” Low also confirmed that wide receiver Tre Harris is out for the game.

In Tuesday’s practice, the only one of the week where media is permitted to watch, Judkins was wearing the black non-contact jersey.

Our sources indicate it is soreness in Judkins’ ribs that is causing his discomfort. The Rebels likely want to give the star running back all the opportunity he can have to get better before the team travels to Tuscaloosa to face Alabama next weekend.

Thus far in 2023, Judkins has rushed 31 times for 108 yards for a 3.5 yard per carry average. He’s also notched three touchdowns.

As for Harris, he suffered what appeared to be a knee injury in the first quarter of last week’s win over Tulane and will miss today’s game against the Yellow Jackets. While sources initially reported Harris could miss 3-4 weeks, other reports are now indicating that timetable might be shortened. Harris has eight catches on the season — five of which have been for touchdowns. He leads the team with 188 yards receiving.

Game info:

The No. 17 Rebels kick off against Georgia Tech at 6:30 p.m. (CT). They game will be broadcast on ESPN.
