Oxford, Miss. – Ole Miss phenom hurler Hunter Elliott on Monday afternoon was tabbed as SEC Co-Freshman of the Week for the second straight week, becoming the first player in the SEC to earn a weekly award in back-to-back weeks.

Elliott was instrumental in helping Ole Miss achieve its first ever sweep in Baton Rouge over the weekend in an 11-1 game-two victory over LSU.

He allowed just four hits, three walks and one earned run while striking out nine Tigers in 6.2 innings of work on Saturday.

The win moves Elliot’s record to 3-3 on the season and drops his ERA to just 2.84. In his last two starts, he has allowed just two earned runs while striking out 18 batters in 13.2 innings.

Hunter’s next scheduled start would be Friday in game two against Texas A&M. The Aggies come to Oxford for a three game-series beginning Thursday, the final series of the regular season for both clubs.
