Saturday Recap: Ole Miss QB, trio of WR’s, and RB shine at the NFL combine

Indianapolis, IN. – Today was another day of on-field drills at the NFL combine, evaluating quarterbacks, wide receivers, and running backs. For Ole Miss, Jaxson Dart, Tre Harris, Jordan Watkins, Juice Wells, and Ulysses Bentley IV were in attendance and ready to perform.

Quarterback

Starting with Jaxson, the quarterback was on point in his throwing drills, dotting up his receivers on post, vertical, and slant routes down the field. Measuring in at 6-foot-2 and 223 pounds, his plus size and athletic ability have seemed to impress a majority of scouts who he’s encountered over the last couple of months.

According to quite a few media outlets, the gunslinger had the best throwing session out of all the quarterbacks who participated, including Quinn Ewers, Will Howard and Dillon Gabriel.

Wide Receivers

The three Rebel receivers were phenominal today, highlighted by Jordan Watkins who ran a 4.38 40-yard dash time. Here are the recorded statistics for each player:

Tre Harris:

  • 40-yard dash: 4.54 (official)
  • Vertical jump: 38.50″
  • Broad jump: 10′5″

Jordan Watkins:

  • 40-yard dash: 4.37 (official)
  • Vertical jump: 36.50″
  • Broad jump: 9’11”

Juice Wells:

  • 40-yard dash: 4.58 (official)
  • Vertical jump: 34.00″
  • Broad jump: 10’4″

On the field in 2024, the trio combined for nearly 2,500 receiving yards and over 20 touchdowns for Lane Kiffin’s offense. It can be expected for all of them to make an appearance at the Ole Miss Pro Day later this month.

Running Back

Former Ole Miss running back Ulysses Bentley was evaluated today following a senior year filled with ups and downs. Despite not finding as much playing time as he would’ve preferred, Bentley managed to rush for 419 yards on 84 carries, averaging five yards per carry. Today in Lucas Oil Stadium, here were his statistics according to the NFL website.

  • 40-yard dash: 4.62 (official)
  • Vertical jump: 32.50″
  • Broad jump: 9′9″
