Recruiting Check: Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss hosting some of the country’s best, including one of nation’s top wide receiver recruits
OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss football, less than two weeks away from the Grove Bowl, continues to receive visits from some of the nation’s top recruits during spring practice, and today is no exception. At this morning’s practice, the Rebs host recruits from the 2025 and 2026 classes.
Let’s take a look at some of the players who will be in town.
Corey Amos – 2025 Linebacker (committed)
Amos committed to Ole Miss on February 3, immediately after he visited with Coach Golding and the staff. The four-star is a top-10 linebacker in the state of Louisiana and carries a 6-foot-2, 200-pound frame.

For Corey’s recruitment, similar to many players from the boot, Ole Miss will likely need to fend off LSU if they decide to pursue Amos, which could happen in a matter of time. For now, the Rebs are in a fantastic spot and will look to improve their relationship even further over the upcoming months.
Winston Watkins Jr. – 2025 Slot Receiver
Watkins is the No. 21 wideout in the nation, according to On3Sports. The four-star out of First Baptist Academy (Naples, Florida) is listed as a top-200 player across all major platforms.
In addition to the Rebels, the 5-foot-10 Watkins has received a great deal of interest from schools such as Texas A&M, Ohio State, Miami, Florida State, Alabama, Clemson, and others. As you can assume based on that list, the Florida native’s recruitment is going to be a hectic one.

Last year in nine games at IMG Academy (Fla.), Watkins tallied 25 receptions for 393 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Ole Miss wide receivers coach George McDonald and the staff offered Watkins on March 11th and getting him in town so soon is a fantastic sign for the Rebs.
Daune Morris – 2025 Running Back
Morris will be visiting from Chattanooga, Tennessee after putting on a clinic of a junior season this fall. Standing at 5-foot-10 and weighing 190 pounds, Daune has amassed 2,633 all-purpose yards, including 586 passing yards and 36 touchdowns, proving his elite versatility.
Besides the Rebels, Auburn, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Alabama, Kentucky, Louisville, and more have established positive relationships with the running back.

Jayreon Campbell – 2026 Running Back
Campbell, a member of the class of 2026, is a Powder Springs, Georgia native. As a rising junior, Campbell is already 5-foot-11 and 190 pounds, with offers from Texas A&M, Arkansas, Tennessee, Michigan, Auburn, and more.
work ethic is important because, unlike intelligence, athleticism, charisma, or any other natural attribute, it’s a choice. @PrepRedzoneGA @FootballHotbed @McEchrnStrength @McEachernSports @ncsa pic.twitter.com/FpZVcDKSFq

Looking at the video attached from Campbell’s Twitter, it is clear that his speed, agility, and incredible footwork play a large part in why he is being recognized by so many powerhouse universities.
