Ole Miss’ Madison Scott Honored as SEC Co-Player of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – (Release) Coming off back-to-back overtime victories last week against Florida and Mississippi State, Madison Scott has been applauded for her efforts as the SEC Co-Player of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.

Scott went off for a career-best performance last Thursday at Florida, with a career-high 27 points and added 12 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season. The 27 points from Scott were the most by any Rebels since the 2022 SEC Tournament and helped Ole Miss complete the comeback against the Gators after trailing by as many as 16.

Scott’s 26th career double-double moved her into eighth all-time at Ole Miss as she continues to climb the Rebel record books.

The following game against Mississippi State, Scott led Ole Miss to yet another comeback victory as the Rebels trailed by eight with five minutes remaining. Scoring nine of her 20 overall points in the fourth quarter, Scott provided Ole Miss with the opportunity to win the game in overtime by hitting the game-tying layup with three seconds remaining.

The Rebels went on to outscore the Bulldogs 12 to eight in overtime to clinch its third consecutive home win over Mississippi State. Scott concluded her day with her second straight 20-point outing, grabbing nine rebounds and dishing out three assists.

The accolade is Scott’s second SEC Player of the Week honor this season and the second of her career. Scott is the first Rebel to earn SEC Player of the Week multiple times in a single season since Armintie Price during the 2006-07 campaign.

With four regular season games remaining, the Rebels are back in action at home on Thursday (Feb. 22) against Georgia. Tip against the Bulldogs is set for 6:30 p.m. CT, streaming on SEC Network +.
