Ole Miss football stars set to host youth football camp July 24 in Oxford

OXFORD, Miss. — Some star players on the Ole Miss football team have joined together to offer a football camp for kids aged 6-12. If your child loves football and wants to work with some top collegiate players, you will want to consider signing them up for a camp run by these current Rebels.

Linebacker MoMo Sanogo, defensive backs Jaylon Jones and A.J. Finley, defensive lineman Tariqious Tisdale, offensive lineman Ben Brown, running back Jerrion Ealy, and receivers Braylon Sanders and John Rhys Plumlee are hosting a camp in Oxford on July 24.

The Rebel Walk asked Sanogo what made his teammates and him think of doing a camp.

“I actually got the idea from of a friend of mine in the league (NFL) named Eno Benjaman who had a camp last month,” Sanogo said. “When I saw how many kids showed up, I realized there are kids who would really love to interact with us, to play with us, and to learn from us.”

If your child is just outside the 6-12 range, don’t worry. He/she can still attend. “The age range is 6-12, but we will be splitting them into groups based on age, so it will be fine if there are kids a little younger or a little older,” Sanogo added.

It means a great deal to these Rebels to be able to mentor and coach kids.

It’s an awesome opportunity to positively impact the youth of Mississippi. When I was in middle school, I thought the high school players were superheroes, so a good experience with us can make these kids fall in love with the game.
