OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss continues to stack talent up front. Offensive lineman Carius Curne is headed to Oxford after committing to the Rebels out of the NCAA transfer portal, a move first shared by On3’s Hayes Fawcett and later confirmed by Pete Nakos.
The 6-foot-5, 320-pound Curne started at both left and right tackle during his time at LSU as a true freshman this season. He has three years of eligibility remaining.
Curne ranks as the No. 1 offensive tackle, according to 247Sports. The four-star transfer is the eighth of the portal class for Coach Golding. His addition has moved the Rebels to No. 4 in the nation in the portal class rankings.
The former LSU standout officially signed with Ole Miss on Tuesday, giving the Rebels another high-upside piece in the trenches.
Curne saw the field immediately as a true freshman for the Tigers, appearing in seven games during the 2025 season and earning the trust of the coaching staff early. Five of those outings came as starts, with Curne lining up at both right and left tackle—an impressive level of versatility for a first-year player in the SEC.
While his freshman campaign showed plenty of promise, injuries kept Curne from logging a full season. He was limited to just one appearance in October after suffering a leg injury late in LSU’s loss to Texas A&M on Oct. 25. That setback followed a month-long absence, though he did manage to return to action against Alabama on Nov. 8.
Even with the abbreviated résumé, Curne’s talent has never been in question.
Coming out of high school, the Arkansas native was regarded as one of the premier linemen in the country. He entered college as a four-star prospect, ranked No. 49 nationally in the 2025 class by the Rivals Industry Rankings. He was also rated as the No. 2 interior offensive lineman in the nation and the top overall player from the state of Arkansas out of Marion High School.
That pedigree followed him into the portal.
Once Curne entered his name into the transfer database, he quickly became one of the most coveted linemen available. On3 ranked him as the No. 20 overall transfer and the top interior offensive lineman in the portal—despite the fact that he spent most of his freshman season playing on the edge.
Now, he brings that skill set to an Ole Miss program firmly in championship mode.
Curne joins a Rebels team just two wins away from a national title, beginning with a College Football Playoff showdown against Miami in the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 8. A victory would send Ole Miss to the national championship game on Jan. 19, where either Oregon or Indiana awaits.
For Ole Miss, it’s another major win in the portal—and another statement that the Rebels are building their title push from the inside out.
