Ole Miss Friday Availability Report: Key Rebels Out, O-Line Boosted Before Kentucky Clash

No. 20 Ole Miss is set to battle Kentucky in the Rebels’ SEC opener Saturday afternoon in Lexington. Friday’s availability report gives us a little more clarity on who’s in — and who’s not — for this pivotal matchup.

Ole Miss will be without two highly-anticipated Arkansas transfers once again. Cornerback Jaylon Braxton and tight end Luke Hasz are officially Out for Saturday. Neither has made his Ole Miss debut, with both missing last week’s season-opening win over Georgia State. Braxton dressed but did not see action, while Hasz remained sidelined.

The updated list Friday evening also included Traylon Ray, Dante Core, Terez Davis, and Samari Reed as Out.

There was a positive twist on Friday’s update — and it comes in the trenches. Offensive lineman Delano Townsend is no longer listed, meaning the UAB transfer is available. With SEC play starting, having another body up front could be huge for the Rebels’ protection and run game.

In the secondary, cornerback Ricky Fletcher remains Questionable.

Freshman wideout Caleb Cunningham, however, continues trending upward. Initially marked Out earlier this week, Cunningham’s status improved daily, and he’s now listed as Probable. The talented playmaker saw limited snaps against Georgia State, but his presence Saturday could give quarterback Austin Simmons another explosive option.

Here are Friday’s Availability Reports

Ole Miss

Out: DB Jaylon Braxton, WR Traylon Ray, TE Luke Hasz, DB Dante Core, OL Terez Davis, OL Samari Reed
Questionable: DB Ricky Fletcher
Probable: WR Caleb Cunningham

Kentucky

Out: DJ Miller (WR), Jamarion Wilcox (RB), Nic Smith (DL), David Washington, Jr. (WR), Preston Bowman (WR)
Doubtful: DJ Waller, Jr. (DB)
Probable: Aba Selm (OL)

Kickoff between the Rebels and Wildcats is set for 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC. The SEC releases a final football availability report 90 minutes before game time.
