Chris Beard, Ole Miss land commit from Kentucky transfer Travis Perry

OXFORD, Miss. — Chris Beard and the Ole Miss men’s basketball team landed a commit from Kentucky transfer guard Travis Perry Sunday. He was also being recruited by Maryland and Vanderbilt, among others.

Perry, who entered the transfer portal just hours before the deadline to do so on April 22, will have three years of eligibility remaining.

At Kentucky, the 6-foot-1 Perry averaged 2.7 points per game and 0.6 assists. He shot 31.3% from the field and 32.1% from beyond the arc.

He played in 31 games, starting four, for the Wildcats in the 2024-25 season, averaging 11.9 minutes in league play.

Against Alabama, Perry tallied double-digit points both times the two teams played, scoring 12 and 11.

Perry, who played for Lyon County High School (Eddyville, KY), was a four-star prospect who was the No. 81 overall recruit in the 2024 class according to On3. He is Kentucky’s all-time leading scorer in high school basketball.

Before he committed to the Wildcats out of high shcool, Perry had also been considering the Rebels, Alabama, Cincinnati, and Western Kentucky.
