Catcher Austin Fawley
Catcher Austin Fawley finished the game 1-3 with a home run, three walks, and four RBI.
Shortstop Owen Paino
In the bottom of the sixth, Rebel shortstop Owen Paino sent a leadoff solo shot out of the park, his first round-tripper as a Rebel, and that gave Ole Miss a 11-7 lead through six. He finished the game with the homer and 2 RBI.
Pitcher Brayden Jones
Jones (1-0), the fourth of six pitchers on the day for the Rebs, Jones (1-0) earned the win. He tallied one strikeout and gave up one hit in 1.2 innings of work. Eighteen of his 24 total pitches were strikes.
“You guys spoke to BJ (Brayden Jones), I thought that was the turning point in the game in the sixth,” Coach Bianco noted after the game. “For him to get off the field, bases loaded, no outs and to get off the field without any runs there (was what we needed). Then for our offense to answer a lot of crooked numbers up there, after they scored, was probably the second (biggest) difference in the game.”
