Updated Injury Report: Ole Miss DL Princely Umanmielen ruled out for Rebels’ game at South Carolina
OXFORD, Miss. –In Friday night’s SEC Availability Report, Ole Miss football’s updated list reflected one big change: star EDGE Princely Umanmielen has been ruled “out” of the Rebels’ road game vs. South Carolina.
The defensive lineman will be sorely missed as thus far this season he has tallied 13 tackles, eight of which are solo, along with six tackles for loss and three sacks.
In some good news for Ole Miss, wide receivers Tre Harris and Micah Davis, along with tight end Caden Prieskorn, are no longer on the list. They were previously included in Wednesday’s availability report. Umanmielen is the only Rebel on the list whose status was downgraded.
The final availability report is required to be released ninety minutes before kickoff; therefore, it should likely updated by 1:00 p.m. CT.
South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer had approached the weekend game as if Ole Miss would have Umanmielen for the game.
“It’s not that they just have one guy in the interior that you have to worry about or a guy on the edge,” Beamer explained.
“Ole Miss has multiple at both spots. They have depth and they’re really really talented when you talk about Princely at one edge, Ivey from Georgia Tech, Pegues and Nolen in the inside. I can go on and on and on about the number of guys they have. There’s depth and athleticism….They’re really good and present a lot of challenges.”

As for Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin, he knows his team will have quite the opponent on its hands.
“This is a big challenge going up against really good players in a hard place to play, a really good scheme and could easily could be a top-12 team the way they beat Kentucky and, if it wasn’t for a penalty, they have LSU beat by two scores. These guys are really, really good.”
