Harris was asked about the offensive performance against Furman.
“For us, it was a lot of guys’ first game together and we just wanted to go out there and show what we were about,” Harris said.
“This entire week our coaches were preaching to us about Furman, and we weren’t going to take them lightly. (Furman) was going to come off the bus and play with effort and challenge us to play with just as much effort, to play really, really harder than them and it showed tonight (Saturday) and I am really proud of them for that.“

Harris added that last season he was a part of the 70-points put up against Mercer (73-7), but commented he never put up 76-points in a game.
“It feels good,” he said, smiling.
Harris was asked about what kind of a message such a win sends.
“We just want to go out there and play hard with as much effort as possible. Take each play, play-by-play, that was another main focus our coaches were telling us…just taking it play-by-play and being where your feet are. I am really proud of the offense and the entire team. Cause the defense played a shutout game.”

Harris on Jaxson Dart, O-line
Quarterback Jaxson Dart is coming into his third year as the starting quarterback for the Rebels, and Saturday he went 22-for-27 with 418 yards passing, five touchdowns thrown, and one with his legs — in the first half, alone.
“He has been super dialed in, just into everything,” Harris said of his QB. “He has been leading by example. Just standing out the entire time,” he added.
“On Friday night, he told me that it seems like I am losing a little bit of my edge, and that got me going a little bit today and got me running a little bit harder and faster. He is just doing what we have all been preaching about since way before. I am just super proud of him the way he plays, and he has a great season ahead of him and I”m ready to keep balling with him.”

This season, Ole Miss has a new revamped offense line that gives Dart and the receivers time to connect.
“We know that they are going to give us time to run the routes that we need to run and gives us time to do things that last year we weren’t able to do. Being able to give more releases at the top end of our routes and things like that. To have those guys set up a wall like that for Jaxson and give him time is huge. Big shout out to them, but next week gotta do it again.”
