The shortstop out of Poughkeepsie, New York, is the Rebels’ second-highest-ranked recruit in the 2024 class and was named New York’s Gatorade Player of the Year after posting a ridiculous stat line in his senior season. Hitting from the left side of the plate, Paino finished with 28 RBIs, 37 runs, 22 stolen bases, four home runs, a .532 batting average, and a .722 on-base percentage in 23 games.

Rank: 91Paino’s a LH stick w/ an athletic frame. Tons of feel for the barrel & a polished LH stroke. Exceptional on the dirt as well. Name to keep an eye on this spring. #OleMiss commit. pic.twitter.com/X2wyrqnWNY

Standing at 6-foot-3, Paino is described by Perfect Game as a “smooth defender with plenty of twitch and arm strength,” making him the perfect candidate to start in the field next season.
While he has yet to arrive on campus, all signs are pointing in the right direction for Paino to become the next great Rebel shortstop. For more Ole Miss sports updates, be sure to stay tuned with The Rebel Walk. Hotty Toddy!
