BYU transfer catcher and Mississippi native Collin Reuter commits to Ole Miss
OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss baseball has received its first transfer portal commitment, coming from catcher Collin Reuter who has spent his last two years at BYU.
After graduating from Magnolia Heights High School in Olive Branch, Mississippi, the 6-foot-3 backstop arrived on the campus of BYU and played in 46 games as a true freshman. Reuter suffered an elbow injury the following year, forcing him to redshirt the 2022-2023 season.
Despite the time off, Reuter joined the Cougars again this past season, played 48 games, and was named Honorable Mention on the All-Big 12 team.

There’s no question that a hole in this Ole Miss lineup has been filled following the departure of Eli Berch, who announced his transfer to Louisiana Tech yesterday after starting started in 33 games for the Rebs behind the plate last season.
Because he’s 21, Reuter is eligible to be selected in the 2024 Major League Baseball draft July 14-16 in Fort Worth, Texas. If he’s drafted, he will definitely have a decision to make.
Reuter is a guy who brings Power Five experience behind the plate to a team who is searching for up-and-coming leaders. This is a fantastic start to the transfer portal for Coach Bianco and the Rebs.
